Hello sweet friends, Tracy here today to share a quick, messy, painty, ink splattered journal page featuring 

Dina Wakely`s Mixed Media Stamps 

All for the Gals Set

I am all in a " TIZ " at the ideas that are running through my head right now . . . I am so in  loooove with them!!

Kim has them on Pre Order in the shop and they should be in any day now.

I managed to get my painty mitts on them here in the UK, woohoo.

This was me tonight being brave 

as

 I headed out to the shed, with not a thought in my head

except

to have fun, get messy and play!

 I started with a quick splodge of Gesso to my old book page, followed by a mixture of

Dylusion Ink Sprays

a smidgen or two of

Pan Pastels

and

 a splatter or circle or two 

with

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot.

The tag was created on a 7 Gypsies Naked Tag . . . another loooove, lol!

A quick splodge of Gesso first

followed by

Inking up the stamp with an Archival Ink Pad

 Mixing up a little Pan Pastel with Gesso for her skin tone

Spraying Dylusion inks onto my craft sheet and brushing it on loosely 

before

Adding a few touches of  a script stamp

and

My doodle doodle doo`s.

Lurking around my shed, sitting gathering dust was a bottle of

Aged Artists Varnish

I have no idea how to use it 

or

what it`s for

but in the

Spirit 

of

Discovery

I gave it a shake

and

GULP

grabbed a cleanish rag

and

oh my giddy aunt

I quickly, nervously

rubbed it all over 

the result . . .

It has a beautiful aged gloss to the page, I wish the pictures could do it justice.

 

My sewing machine is feeling poorly at the moment, sigh . . . but I wanted thread on my page and thread I was going to have.

I dug around my sewing box which I inherited, it`s full of the most beautiful old threads on wooden bobbins and I came across this black linen thread . . . scrummy yummy and as I chopped some up it fell into circles all on it`s own . . . bliss!

A few of the sentiments from the set was all that was needed to finish the page.

Spring is in the Air !

 

Hi everyone! it's Toni here to share a project with you today. It surely must be Spring as the clocks go forward this weekend and our lovely tortoise has woken up from hibernation. So in celebration of things to come, I've made this flowery wall hanging. I started by painting Studio Gesso on to a chip board circle. I then used my favourite Layering Stencils, Trellis and Dot Fade, with embossing paste to add some texture to the surface.





Once the embossing paste was dry I painted the frame firstly with Crushed Olive Distress Paint and then Antique Linen over the top. I swiped a little Walnut Stain Distress ink around the inside and outside edges when it had dried. I painted a separate piece of card for the background and used crackle medium to add interest.

I really like the results of this. It's almost a shame to cover it up but I had the idea of using the new Frame Works  Trellis die to create some 'rusted iron work'. I know I'm going to love using this die in projects. I cut several pieces and used Distress Embossing Powder in Vintage Photo to create the rusted effect.

I stuck the trellis strips together with tiny pieces of tape and then glued them onto the back of the circle frame. I cut a circle, the same size as the frame from the background card and joined the pieces together with dimensional pads. 

 I then set to with making the flowers. I cut several flowers in manila card, using The Jumbo Tattered Florals Die. If you'd like to have a go at making flowers like these, there is a step by step  tutorial, using the regular sized Tattered Florals Die, on my blog, which you can find by following this link. I used the same method  with The Jumbo Tattered Florals Die for making the largest flower on this hanging. Here's a photo showing the different stages..

 They're quite easy to make, and also quite addictive! The yellow flower was made by shaping the flower petals with a ball tool on a foam mat and then layering together.

I used a couple of the smaller Tattered Florals die cuts for the centre of this flower.

The foliage was cut from Kraft Core card using the Tim Holtz Alterations - Bigz Garden Greens and the Alterations - Decorative Strip - Spring Greenery. I softened the surface with a little Distress paint before adhering them to the frame. I then arranged the flowers and greenery and used a glue gun to fix  the flowers onto the frame. The  sentiment is from a set of stamps by Indigo Blue, it's been stamped in Potting Soil Archival Ink onto a piece of distressed manila card.

So, that just about finishes off my spring project. I hope it inspires you to put a spring in your step!

Love is the Flower You've got to let Grow!

Hello Everyone, it's Sue Lelli here with a post that's all about playing in my Dylusions art journal with some new stencils, paints, and embossing pastes. Since I was concentrating on flowers, I found this FAB quote on my computer:

It was just so Perfect for my journal pages:

 I used bright Dylusions Ink Sprays for my BG colors on top of Tim Holtz Terminology tissue wrap and left the words showing though. Then I let the FUN begin!

The flowers were added using Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste with my Wendy Vecchi 3 Fresh Flowers Stencil. The black stencil marks were made using Wendy Vecchi's black embossing paste and the TCW Mini Textured Stencil. I painted the flowers with Silks Acryllic Glaze in Boysenberry and Raspberry wine.

Same process except some additional steps. The daisies were painted with titanium white Golden Paint. I outlined the daisies with a Stabilo all pencil in black.  Circles were made with the Raspberry Wine Silks Acrylic Glaze using two tops from bottles. Then I added dots in Blizzard and Peony using Art Anthology Dimensional Crystals. Also if you look closely you will see the white heart I added with the TCW Confetti Stencil. I LOVE this stencil so much I use it on practically Everything!

 

In this close up you can see the FAB texture on the flower outlined with the black pencil and the dimensional dots in the center.

I added this date stamp. This helps me keep a record of when I made something so I can follow my artistic development as I try new things. Silly maybe, but I like it!

Art Journal cover

Hello, it's Sue here and today I'm sharing a cover ready for my next art journal.

I started with a piece of Speciality Stamping Paper and dotted it with Archival re-inkers in Tree Branch, Hydrangea and Orange Blossom. Then I squirted rubbing alcohol over the ink, now I was a little over zealous with the ink and as this was my last piece of SS paper I had to carry on !

I then used a Prima stencil with Tree Branch Archival ink, I then used the same stencil with Hydrangea and Dandelion Archival ink.

I cut the paper down to A5 size and then I used the Dots and Stripes border stencil using Potting Soil Archival ink down the side of the page and the Dotty stencil over parts of the page. I stamped the border from The Beauty of Art set using Hydrangea Archival ink.

I then used the From the Garden stencil and stencilled the flower first of all with white acrylic paint when it was dry I re-positioned the stencil and then stencilled over the top with yellow acrylic paint.

I carried on layering up the colours but not completely covering the layer below.

Finishing the flower with a dark red but not all over only in the centre and on the tips of the petals.

I repeated the process with 2 further flowers. I stamped the words from the True Art and Approved Art stamp sets using black Archival ink. I also used the Vintage Mesh stamp with Potting Soil Archival ink.

I used the Tim Holtz mini bird and cage die and rubbed Vintage Photo Distress Ink over them and rubbed some Onyxite Treasure Gold over the cage. To finish I added some lace and buttons.

Hi everyone Monica her with my final post for Eclectic Paperie and I want to say thank so much for having me and I hope everyone enjoyed my projects.  For my final post I decided to do something normal I guess you could say.  I figured I would show everyone how Eclectic Paperie has products that every crafter can use.  So I made a G45 mini album with the gorgeous Couture patterned paper I received from EP.
