Salute to Dad

Hope everyone had a safe and great Memorial Day weekend. You all made Joy's birthday, too, with all the orders that we received over the weekend. Thank you! Thank you!!

Now it's time to get going on those Father's Day projects that need to be made for those special dads in our lives. Here are some fun things that we just received yesterday from Paper Salon. Check out the new Haberdashery line and stamp set called father's day. Way cute and versatile for all those masculine cards and projects that we always seem to not have enough of. The Paper Salon Tailored Tins are very popular since they are die-cut, unmounted rubber stamp sets. They each come in the dvd tin, too. If you are looking for acyrlic blocks for your unmounted stamps, also check out the wide assortment we have . I personally love the Stampendous Acrylic blocks since that have the grooves/handles like traditional wood mounts.

If you are looking for any other masculine-type papers, check out the new SEI paperline called Such a Boy and Crate paperlines such as Zoom, Cowboy, and Taylor. The Boy Scouts line form K& Co has lots of designs that can lend themselves to these projects, too. My favorite to give a masculine and also vintage look are Wanted and Halfway Cafe from Cosmo Cricket. The newest line we have from Love, Elsie, called Toby is really hip and cool.

Don't forget that we also have a lot of alterables for that perfect gift-giving containers and projects. There are metal tins that mimic the lunch box look and also the clear acrylic paint cans. The DVD tins and CD tins are great items to hold any digital scrapbooking projects you may want to give that special dad. Create a CD of his favorite tunes or a DVD of some great photos with the kids and famiy and put it in some cool metal tin container that you altered.

Whatever your projects are for dad or whatever you have planned for the summer, don't forget the great papers and stamps that Eclectic Paperie offers to enhance your creative process and paper crafts.

BTW...we have lots of new things in this week. Check out all the new SEI paper lines and matching embellishments as well as the Love, Elsie line from KI Memories.

Happy Mother's Day!

We wanted to take a moment to stop and wish all a joyous Mother's Day.

Speaking of which, there are some very special eclectic Mothers out there receiving a beautiful Mother's Day Card from Taylored Expressions today that looks like this:

Some of the eclectic Moms of 2007 are:
  • Jackie Marra
  • Vivian Peters
  • Sheila Freeman
  • Crystal Minkler
  • Dina Anderson
  • Kristina Price
  • Susan Jensen

Some of our favorite quotes about mothers are posted below. They all make us feel and warm and fuzzy inside.

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva Jordan

Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field, since the payment is pure love. ~Mildred B. Vermont

A suburban mother's role is to deliver children obstetrically once, and by car forever after. ~Peter De Vries

The phrase "working mother" is redundant. ~Jane Sellman

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

The real religion of the world comes from women much more than from men - from mothers most of all, who carry the key of our souls in their bosoms. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes

Let's celebrate all women in our lives who are our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts and our dear friends, too. The "mothers" in our lives bring that TLC and light up our days in so many ways.

Cheers!

It's in the Bag

Happy May!

Hopefully May will bring lots of flowers and sunshine into your part of the world. May comes along and we also start thinking of all the "moms" in our lives. Whether it's your own mom, your sister, friend or another special woman in your life who is a "mom" for you....let's celebrate them!
I am going to give one of these gorgeous "creativity bags" to my mom for mother's day. She is not a scrapper or stamper but she is always on the go whether it's off to her bible study or showing homes as a realtor. She can put all kinds of literature, her bible, and all kinds of things in this very roomy and pretty bag. It also serves as a great carry-on as we have heard from Jenn Balcer(jbalcer) and Beverly Gerard(texasgrammy). They each got one while they were here in California for StampMania and then used it to put all their things and laptop for a travel carry-on. There are pockets for phone, PDA, computer and magazines. It's meant to be able to carry 12x12 paper and scrapbooks. We only have the Sola pattern available right now as the Amy Butler Belle pattern is on back-order. If I know my mom, she will also sew some Prima flowers and other "bling" to make it her own.

Check out the Alter This section where you also find lots of fun containers, acrylic paint cans and more that can house fun presents. Mother's Day, graduation, end of school teacher gifts....so many cute containers to alter and put things in. I was thinking that even this dress form would be oh-so-cute if you were to modge podge a bunch of photos of your kids and then give it to grandma for Mother's day. You can use either Ranger Adirondack Paint Dabbers or the Dew Drops to put some color on all these alterables. Did you know that the Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks are great on metal tins? Check out this metal tin that was made by Michelle Fischer(SDiegoGal) using the alcohol inks.

We have lots of new tings that came in so give us a couple days to upload them. We have all the new Girl Scout papers, scrapbooks and embellishments. We also received the Boy Scout individual papers and other scrapbook items by K& Co. We will start to carry SEI and also My Mind's Eye. Some of you have the discovered the new Heidi Grace paper lines and we received the embellishments that match. There is even so much more....you'll just have to stay tuned. There are way, too, many new products to talk about.
