Graphic 45 eclectic Paperie Package

Graphic 45 was one of the most talked about designer papers at CHA. Their booth was very appealing and just made you want to go see what it was. Everything in their booth was covered and altered with Graphic 45 papers. It all coordinated together and really captured the essence of their paper collections. I just uploaded the CHA photos on Flickr so you can get just a little taste of their booth displays.

We ordered the new collections Fashionista and Communique....but only chose those papers that were more "cardmaker" friendly. You really have to check out the back of these beautiful double-sided papers. They all coordinate so well and it was so hard to choose. Since this is a new line, eP is offering a special Graphic 45 paper pack that we've put together so you can enjoy its flavor and essence. These papers are very rich in colors and designs. They are double-sided. There are beautiful large designs on one side; and a coordinating smaller pattern on the reverse side.

You can view the following video to get a better idea of all the papers and patterns in this eP papcer offering. The photos show the pattern on each side. You will receive 26 individual sheets; or one of each in the designs that we ordered. As bonus, you will all also receive 1 package of Basic Grey Black and White ribbon and a pretty tin of Prima Flowers(colors may vary). We have a limited amount so you can get your special eP Graphic Paper Pack + extra goodies HERE.

Enjoy!

Winter CHA 2009 is Here!

The big show is finally here in town! Yippee! We had a first full day that started with this awesome class by Ranger called "Color Your Creativity" taught by Tim Holtz. It was a special class that we were lucky enough to get into and boy did we see a lot of new stuff. Joy and I learned so much about alcohol inks. We were grateful for the valuable information and the time that we got to play with the all the Ranger tools like alcohol inks, blending solution, and the new Ranger Refillable Alcohol Ink Pen. The new Pen and new alcohol inks in the Light, Bright, and Earthtones are all debuting at CHA this week.

Here are some photos of our class tools. We used the new Alcohol Inks in Light, Bright and Earthtone offerings. We used the Metallic inks and did some "polished stone". We all received one of the new Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp set called Fairytale Frenzy.

I actually finished a project! We used some Fragments to cover our pieces. Put them together with some cool hardware and it was done! Joy made a blue one that turned out way cool, too.

eclectic Paperie will be bringing these items to you soon. The Ranger Refillable Alcohol Ink Pen will not be available until mid-March and will retail for $6.00. We will be working to revamp and expand all of our Ranger products as well as the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection.

Tell us what else is on your Ranger wishlist.

Don't forget that eclectic Paperie is on Twitter sending out Tweets while we walk the CHA floor. Make sure you get on Twitter for some "play by play" at Winter CHA.

Designer Stickles are here!

You've been hearing a lot about the Designer Series Distress ™ Stickles Glitter Glue by Ranger. There is a new collection of Distressed Stickles by Tim Holtz and Glitz by Suze Weinberg. According to Ranger, here are the benefits to these new Designer Stickles:

Designer Series Distress ™ Stickles Glitter Glue
Distress Stickles by Tim Holtz has a unique combination of variegated glitter sizes and a matte look to complement the nostalgic palette of Distress Products. Application of Distress Stickles provides a thicker, bolder application than traditional Stickles.

• Acid free, non-toxic
• Non-settling formula
• Premium quality glitter
• Signature Designer colors
• Convenient .5 fl. Oz. bottles with needlenose applicator

These new Distressed Stickles are fabulous! They are a little thicker than your favorite Stickles and it looks a little more like shattered glass. The tip of the bottle is bigger than the regular Stickles in order to accomodate the thicker consistency.

Designer Series Glitz Stickles Glitter Glue
Glitz Stickles by Suze Weinberg come in bright colors, are extra sparkly and add lots of bling to your projects.

• Acid free, non-toxic
• Non-settling formula
• Premium quality glitter

Cocoa with Changito

A week from today is Thanksgiving and my family is very excited about Turkey today. My 7 year old daughter was promised that she can make the mashed potatoes this year so it's a big deal for her. It's great to see things through the eyes of kids.

The Christmas season gives us adults to be like kids again, doesn't it? We always need some Christmas spirit in our hearts. Anyways, here's one of my first Christmas cards for this year. Lovin' this Changito Cocoa stamp. It could be used throughout the winter. I thought that this Cup O' Cheer paper from the Imaginisce Snowy Jo collection with this stamp went together. The paper already has the shimmer on it. It is also double-sided. I added the Liquid Applique on Changito's Santa hat for more dimension. Easy card to mass produce for some special friends. Maybe a Starbucks gift card or come special mug with some hot chocolate packets would be good presents with this card.

Cheers! Daisy

Christmas Gift Tags

Happy November! Sorry I was gone way too long from blogging but I am back now and will promise to write and upload with frequency.

Here are my quick and easy Christmas tags that I quickly assembled. Just used some plain manila tags, some ink and my favorite blending tool. I am always intimated by some of the intricate stamp designs out there. How do you ink them up? How do you get the colors in all those places? So, I opted for the monochromatic look for simplicity and classic style. When you have to make a large quantity, it's also easier to work with just a few colors. Less is more, right?

I loved these new Tim Holtz Collection/Holiday 2008 stamps. The one I used here was the Santa Letter ATC size. It screams vintage and shabby. The velvet ric-rac was the perfect embellishment. I also added some Stickles for some sparkle and dimension. So, I made several dozens of these so that I have them ready to put on hostess gifts like bottles of wine, candy, candles and homemade goodies. With a little raffia, velvet or gingham ribbons, they will add that personal touch for my gift-giving this year.

It's okay to rock!

We've received many emails inquiring about the new Rock-a-Blocks by Crafter's Companion.  There was a lot of buzz about this new "must-have-tool" at Summer CHA.  Here are a couple reasons why:
  • It's way lighter than acrylic blocks(it's a good thing!);
  • It is curved and easy to use with any unmounted stamp;
  • It is great to use with larger and detailed stamps so that you can get an even impression every time;
  • "Rocking" will get you that perfect stamped image.
  • You want to "rock" the stamp.
I had to try it out for myself to see what all the commotion was about.  It really surprised me how lightweight it was in comparison to the heavy acrylic blocks that we are used to.    We were all taught "not to rock" your stamp for fear of smudging and smearing your image.  NOW...you must rock with these blocks to get the perfect stamped image.

You stick your stamp onto the block; ink it up with your chosen ink; and you literally "rock-it" to stamp your image.  There is a "lip"(aka. runners) on the edges of the block that will actually help you prevent marks that may "catch" to your paper.   It also serves as a "depth gauge to give you even pressure" when you stamp.

As you rock, you allow yourself to get an even stamped image.  I usually rock-it from bottom of the image to the top.  It is almost like you are putting your stamp on a rolling pin and you roll it onto your paper.  Ink it well and you will get an even impression.  I love it for larger and detailed stamps because you can really roll out your image without the stamp moving on you.

Watch the video again to see that it is really okay to rock the stamp.  When you get yours, invite your friends over so you can all try it and ROCK the night away!

IMPORTANT SIDENOTE:
This new product originated in the United Kingdom and became very popular in a short amount of time.  I am going to note that the instructions suggest that you use a "Stick and Spray" adhesive to keep it tacky.  BUT, the Stick and Spray adhesive that the company(Crafter's Companion) makes to go with the Rock-a-Blocks is not yet available here in the States.  However, can use the Tack 'n Peel(Tsukineko) as an alternative to ensuring that you block is tacky again.
