Hi there! This is Erin Smetak, a brand new designer for eclectic Paperie! I am very honored to be a part of this spectacular team!
Today, I would like to share with you my love of Gelatos! You can find them in the store HERE! They are so fun to work with! I decided that my first project of 2013 would be a scrapbook page!
To start with, here's the full page:
The blue strip on the background paper was made with Gesso, Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint, and then rubbed in w/ Cotton Candy and Boysenberry Gelatos.
I cut the shaped layer out of a regular piece of 12x12 white cardstock. I embossed snowflakes w/ clear embossing powder. Then, I laid a Tim Holtz swirly mask and sprayed the whole page with Moonlight and Slate Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. The snowflakes emerged as if I had embossed them w/ white embossing powder! My 6 year old daughter who was watching me work was amazed and said it was like magic! Haha! I'm sure all of you know how to do this technique!
Then, I sponged the edges, and ran the Boysenberry & Silver Gelatos around the edges to give a bit more detail. I did the exact same thing for the panel w/ the ice skates.
The heading, SNOW, was a fun new concept for me to discover! I took a regular alphabet, stamped wiuth Versamark, and clear embossed it on white paper. Then, I took the Cotton Candy Gelato and rubbed it all over the letters! I cut the letters out, and this is the result! Pretty cool!{Pun intended!}
You can see a little bit better, the top half of the page. The snowflakes that are cut are from an svg file and cut w/ my Cricut.
Lastly, the bottom half of the page. The panel underneath the pictures has a little distressing. I took a regular piece of white cardstock, and colored it w/ my Cotton Candy Gelato. Then, because the color was blending as nicely has I wanted, I grabbed the paint brush that you receive w/ all of your sets, and w/ a little water, finished blending in the color. Ok, so that was fine. But, it was a bit boring. So, I grabbed the Silver Gelato and drew around the edges, and then as I was rubbing the silver in, the paper started flecking off! Well, what a cool look this gives! So, I proceeded to make the entire panel distressed!
That's all I have for you today! I hope that I have inspired you to try the Faber Castell Gelatos if you haven't already done so! They are really easy to use! Not to mention all the beautiful colors they come in, too! At first I had no idea what to do with them, but after watching a YouTube video on their varied uses, I created this scrapbook page!
Have a wonderful day!
Erin
