New E-Team Blog Hop: It's Box-a-licious!

We are excited to bring you a new blog hop that features little boxes. The E-Team has been creating some more art to share with the new Tim Holtz Configurations

Looking up the words configuration and box resulted in the following definitions:

con·fig·u·ra·tion n.
a. Arrangement of parts or elements.
b. The form, as of a figure, determined by the arrangement of its parts or elements.

box  n.
a. A container typically constructed with four sides perpendicular to the base and often having a lid or cover.
b. The amount or quantity that such a container can hold.
2. A square or rectangle:

Seems pretty self-explanatory and geometric, right? Well, I sent a variety of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Configurations to the E-Team and challenged them to literally think out of the box in order to create something with these fun boxes.  They have really outdone themselves and wait till you see what they have created!

To add to the blog hop fun, eclectic Paperie is going to choose two winners who will each receive a Configurations of his/her choice plus lots of paper crafting goodies to enjoy with it. To be eligible, simply visit a participating blog listed and publish a comment.  Each blog listed above will accept comments for the next 48 hours, starting at 8am(EST) today! One comment per person per blog, please!  Two winners will be chosen and posted on the eclectic Paperie blog on Friday, Dec 3rd.

A New E-Team Blog Hop with Darcie's

Happy Monday!

When I saw the new Darcie's designs at CHA this past summer, I knew that their updated and fabulous new look was going to be the right fit for the eclectic Paperie product mix. A little shabby, a little vintage and a whole lot of fun, Darcie's has some beautiful new designs to use for your paper crafts.

Darcie was actually in town over the weekend and I got to visit with her at the Carson Stamp Show. It was great timing. The Darcie's booth was loaded with beautiful samples. Darcie has been in the crafting world for almost 25 years. She has continued to evolve and create some wonderful stamp lines for the paper crafting world.

I challenged the E-Team to use these new Darcie's stamps and shadow boxes to create some special projects. Check out some artful projects the E-Team has created for this Darcie's Blog Hop. Leave them a little love for their finished project. Then come back here are leave a comment about some of your favorite projects from The E-Team. I'll pick a winner by Wednesday evening to win a Charming Darcie's stamp set.

Special Guest: Darcie Heater

Have a great week!

THE E-Team Meets Suzi Blu

Happy Last Friday in October!  So excited to share a new Blog Hop today with The E-Team. We also have a Special Guest joining The E-Team and it's Suzi Blu!

When I saw these new Unity co-branded stamps at CHA this past summer, I knew they were something different, something oh-so-cool, and something exciting! I couldn't wait to get some into the hands of The E-Team and see what they could do with them. The Suzi Blu stamps are made by Unity and the come as a single stamp. The details are amazing and made possible by wonderful Unity rubber.

We all wanted to get to know Suzi Blu a little better so we asked her some questions.  Here is a sampling:

Question: What is favorite snack when you are creating?

Suzi Answered: Hot chocolate with marshmallows. (vegan marshmallows!)

You can read and learn more about Suzi by visiting The E-Team today. They each have a Suzi Q&A. The ladies also each have a creation to share that they created using a Suzi Blu stamp.

Suzi Blu, Special Guest

You can view the Suzi Blu stamp collection HERE. Come back to the eP Blog and leave a comment about which Suzi Blu stamp is your favorite and why. You have from today, October 29th until Halloween, Sunday Oct 31st at midnight to leave a comment. I'll pick a winner and you'll get a treat. Winner will receive the Suzi Blu stamp set she listed plus some other Unity stamp goodies.

Operation Got Paper Rosette?

Happy October!

I challenged The E-Team a couple weeks ago after they all received one of the hottest new dies around, the Paper Rosette from the Tim Holtz Alterations collection by Sizzix/Ellison. This is a thin die and you may need some extra plates to help your get it through die cutting machine.

Please visit The E-Team to see what they have created. Then come back to the eclectic Paperie blog and let me know about some of your favorites. Leave a post and I will be choosing a random winner who will receive the 12 newest Distress Stickles plus your own Paper Rosette Die. Plus, you never know what kind of surprise I may throw in the box. It's the eclectic Paperie way.

The E-Team is hosting a Birthday Bash to Celebrate Operation Write Home

The E-Team is very excited to host a final birthday bash to celebrate Operation Write Home.

THE CARD & STAMPS

Here's my card for this birthday bash. Knowing I wanted to make multiple cards in one sitting, I went for plain white cardstock and decided to use one ink color. I needed simple and did not want to spend time coloring. I chose this outline Unity stamp design because it felt like the right one to use. I had to remember that I was making cards to send to our military overseas so that they would have a card to send back home to their loved ones. Can't you just picture a soldier using this card to write to his/her sweetheart? Instead of using colored cardstock or designer paper for a mat, I reached for a Hero Arts large cling mount stamp. The Hero Arts large cling mount stamps cover an entire A2 size cardfront. I chose a design that would go with the single Unity design and knew it would look good with one color.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RIGHT TOOLS

Having the right tools really does make a difference in being able to accomplish the task. The new Fiskars 9" trimmer is really made for cardmakers. It has a wire cut line to help guide you. I simply cut my cardstock in half so I could get two cards per 1 sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock.

The Scor-Buddy if the perfect size for cardmakers, too, and oh so cute. There are notches to help you with folds and also comes with it's bone folder which makes for perfect creases.

When inking up a large surface like the front of an entire card front, the best way I have found to do so is to ink the stamp, then place your cardstock on top of the stamp. Laying a piece of scrap paper on top of the cardstock will help prevent any smudges. Another big tip I've learned, use a brayer to get an even stamped image.

Next I reached for my Fiskars Stamp Press. It really helps you get that even stamped image. Two of its best features, 1) there are gridlines and 2) It has 4 corners sponged feet you can actually lay it over your cardstock to help figure out where to stamp your image....and press to stamp.

Another tip I have learned is to use specific Copic Colors for helping to "ground" your image...so it's not just floating.

Just to add some dimension without adding bulk, I reached for my Craft Pick and Tim Holtz Ruler. The paper piercing echoed the Magical Background Hero Arts stamp( this background stamp can be so versatile).

Having the right tools can really help with it comes to creating and assembling cards in mass production mode. I did add some red for some color. Some ribbon attached with mini staples from the Tiny Attacher and it was a simple card, easy to duplicate for multiples, and one that I am sending off to Operation Write Home.

Please join The E-Team in creating and sending cards to Operation Write Home. You can read about the Operation Write Home guidelines HERE.

Visit the E-Team to get more tips and tricks creating multiple cards. Everyone has a sample and some helpful hints when it comes to cardmaking.
Visit each blog, leave a comment and you'll get a chance to win some paper crafting goodies. Upload your card creation to eclectic Paperie Flickr Group by Sunday, Oct 3rd for a  chance to win 1 of 2 eclectic Paperie box of goodies.

eclectic Paperie has a special coupon code to offer some savings in order to stock up on favorite tools, papers, stamps, and all things paper crafts. Use coupon code OWHCARDS and you will receive 10% off your entire order (min $10 order) at eclectic Paperie. The coupon code is good Saturday, September 25th thru Sunday October 3rd. Yes, the coupon code is good through World Card Making day!

Leave a comment here and you can win the Hero Arts Magical Background stamp plus some extra Hero Arts ribbons.
