Possibilities
Hello and thanks for seeing what we're up to. Today I have an art journal page for you. The quote pretty much sums it up just perfectly.
Well now, isn't that the truth? This art journal is filled with pages about my own art journey I've been taking this year. I'm learning so much along the way. Not only about art journaling but also about myself as a person.
I started off by mixing a bit of Claudine Hellmuth paints in white and black to get various shades of greys. I also cut out some hexagons (enabeler alert...it's on sale!!!) using the Sweet Pieces set. The paper is the Tangerine 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye. I was able to simply outline then with a little white paint using the coordinating Sweet Stamp Shop stamp set. I also used a warm grey Copic for some detail shading and the script quote along with the Distress Marker in Picket Fence. The wings are a collage sheet I found here. Lastly I grabbed some black paint and did a little splatter effect.
Hope I was able to inspire you a bit today. Don't forget Kim has some of the Sweet Shop Stamps at almost 50% off so be sure to pick them up before they are all gone. You can do that here.

Congrats on the new Job with Angela Thomas
Hi there everyone!!! It's Angela again with a fun card to share with you. I don't often make masculine cards but as soon as I saw the Authentique Thankful paper pad, I knew I had to create something fun with it.
The colors in this pad are perfect for any masculine card. It has definitely inspired me :-). What better to pair with this fantastic DP than the Sweet Stamp Shop set called "It's a Man's World" which I noticed is currently on sale at the store. Who doesn't love a bargain? LOL!!! The briefcase was stamped twice and then popped up using Scotch Foam Mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped using the Memento Rich Cocoa Ink. The layout for my card is from the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge.
Thanks for popping by!!! I'll be back next Wednesday with another fun project for you.

Home
Hi Everyone, Micki here to share a fun art journal page I created using stamps which you may not have thought to use in a mixed media project.
This is the first journal page I created in my altered book, so I thought it only fitting it should start out with a couple of willy wonky houses.
One thing that I absolutely love about mixed media is that anything can be used, especially scraps of left over paper.
I started by layering scraps of papers to the book page using Claudine Hellmuth Matte Multi Medium.
Next I grabbed my Basic Grey PB&J paper pad scraps and started cutting the different elements of the houses. Then I started building the houses on my page, again using multi medium to glue the pieces down. Now at this point I should tell you, that I had completely forgotten to apply paint to the page. As soon as I had all the house pieces glued down and stepped back, I remembered! Using both a brush and my fingers, I colored the background with Ranger Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers. I just unscrewed the dabbers and poured a little paint onto my non-stick craft mat.
Next I took a look at the stamps in the Country Charm set from Wplus9 Design Studio and the Big Greetings set from Market Street Stamps.
Since I didn't want a "perfect" impression from the stamps, I just picked them up and randomly stamped across the page. For the longer stamps I enlisted the help of a tool.....
This worked really well (excuse my inky fingers) because I was able to control how much of the image to stamp. For example, on the roofs, I wanted more of the image but along the windows and doors, less.
A layer of Claudine Hellmuth Matte Multi Medium was the last step to seal the page.
And I have to admit, I totally love this page. Love the willy nilly shapes, the texture and definitely love using those scraps!
And if you haven't already checked out the eP Shop, you need to check it out because I was squealing in delight to see all the new Studio 490 stamps and......(doing a happy dance) Balzer Designs stamps. Woohoo!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to grab your stamps, paints and inks and get inky!

Quick & Easy Cameo Love
Hi, everyone! Broni here, and today I have a quick & easy card that really doesn't look quick & easy! I used the Sweet Victoria stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop. It's perfect for this type of card!
I stamped my flower outlines in Distress inks on some watercolor paper. Then I took my water brush and colored them in, using some extra ink that I had smashed onto my craft sheet. No need to be neat....just slap on the ink!
Next I stamped the leaves in some Shabby Shutters ink, then I spritzed the whole thing with water using a mini-mister.
I dried it with my heat tool, rounded the right edges of it and all my other layers. I stamped the silhouette in Memento Gray Flannel ink, cut it out and popped it up on Scotch foam mounting tape. Then I stamped the sentiment in the same Gray Flannel and tied the ribbon on. I attached all the layers together and I was done!
Here it is again:
Wow! It took me just as long to put this post together as it did to make the card!
That's it for me. Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Be Brave
Recently, I’ve been spying people with letter blocks just
sitting in their studios with little mantras that have meaning to them. And while I love the idea of using game
pieces such as Boggle or children’s letter blocks, I found these wooden blocks
at my local big box and thought I’d create my own.
I tore up a bunch of vintage book pages and used Glue N’Seal
to decoupage them on all the sides of the blocks. Then I just did a quick little sanding on the
edges. For some added texture and
design, I stamped some of my favorite go to backgrounds here and there. I am in LOVE with Wplus9 Defining Words and BackgroundI. Because these blocks are smaller, I
also used Pattern Craze by Sweet Stamp Shop.
Then I took a bit of the Claudine Hellmuth White paint and
with my finger, smeared some paint on all side of each of the blocks.
I’m really into the blue/greens these days for my studio
décor because my walls are red. I mixed
a bit of the Claudine Hellmuth Sky and Landscape Green. Now why didn’t I use the Teal….well, that is
simple…I couldn’t find it! I must have
used it on another project and it’s in a bin but this still worked like a
charm. Next, I antiqued all the blocks
which warmed up all the colors with some Vintage Photo Distress Stain.
Then I added some letters from my stash to spell out “be
brave”. I thought it might be good to
just sharpen the edges a bit with Black Soot Distress Ink so each block would
stand out. The last step was the Gloss GlueN Seal which will help to keep my blocks protected but also make them easier to
dust!
So I’m hoping this little mantra in my studio will remind me
to be the brave girl that I am!Saturday, September 22, 2012
Cherry Blossoms!
Good morning! Sherry here and it’s my day to post a project here on the blog. I decided to use one of the new stamps sets, Cherry Blossoms by Sweet Stamp Shop, and some new MME paper, Lavender.
For the main image, the branch was inked with Walnut Stain and Victorian Velvet Distress Markers, misted with water and stamped onto damp watercolor paper.
The sentiment was embossed with black embossing powder. Much to my dismay, there a a tiny bit of embossing powder still on the image that I didn’t see . . . so . . . I pulled out my handy dandy ink spritzer and the Walnut Stain Distress Marker, and spritzed some marker over the image. It worked for me!
The stamping and the sponging on the image was all done while the paper was still in the Spellbinders Square die template, leaving that nice white border around the image. The frame and border were die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Asian Accents and Motifs.
The seam binding ribbon was dyed with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.
Thanks for stopping by today!
