Welcome New Design Team Members

We're thrilled to announce that we've added three new people to our design team!  Here's a bit more about each new designer...Please join me in welcoming them to the team and be sure to stop by their blogs to see their beautiful work!

I've done crafty bits and pieces all my life (often in the service of my mother's dollshouse hobby), but have only been papercrafting seriously since the beginning of this year; but it has become an absolute obsession.  I no longer have any choice in the matter... I have to craft!

For my "day job", I'm a freelance Text and Voice Coach, working mainly in theatre, so I'm extremely fortunate to have two areas of work about which I'm passionate.  My craft work is frequently inspired by words - quotes and poetry, and by music - especially song lyrics, hence the title of the blog.  For me it really is about allowing the areas of creativity to collide - I hope in a useful way.

I am a mother of one and wife [of one also], and am a graphic designer by trade now working at home as a papercrafter and teacher. I have been a Close To My Heart consultant for 6 1/2 years and I also teach mixed media classes using products from Tim Holtz and other companies like Maya Road, 7Gypsies, Prima, Graphic 45 and more. Although I have not served on a design team before, I have won numerous awards for my artwork through Close To My Heart and QuiKutz and have been published in Stampers Sampler magazine several times for my designs. I have a YouTube channel where I show techniques and tips for papercrafting. I'm a type-A personality; love to work, love to create! I blog regularly sharing my artwork, techniques, and tips.

A good friend introduced to me to scrapbooking back in 1999, and I’ve not stopped playing with paper since. I lean toward mixed media and usually have inky or painty hands. I love stamping, art journaling, painting, 3D and altered arts, and yes… still love scrapping.  I’m all about texture, dimension, and layers, and I usually have several projects in the works at once.

A native New Yorker, I live about an hour north of New York City with my very supportive husband, Michael, and our teen and ‘tween sons, Adam and Sam.  I spend as much time as I can in my studio and enjoy participating in several online groups dedicated to paper arts.

I’ve been published in several print magazines and am a regular columnist for Unruly Paper Arts.  I blog regularly and treasure all the friendships I’ve made with paper artists throughout the world.

It’s my pleasure to join the eclectic Paperie Design Team!

Congrats to the design team. I would love to see how Marjie creates her layers on her journal pages. Would love to see how the other design team members do the art journaling thing.
