Flower Fold

Hello ! It's Sue with you today and I've got a different kind of fold to show you. I spotted this in some literature that arrived at work and thought it was a wonderful shape and decided to give it a whirl ! I've no idea what you would call it but it reminded me of a flower opening up so I decided on Flower Fold !

I drew the shape onto some A3 white card, cut it out and scored the lines for the flaps.

Then I grabbed my Distress Inks and started blending over the card. I used a combination of Squeezed Lemonade, Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender. I decided to add some Peacock Feathers too, which you'll see in the next photo !

I then started to stencil using Distress Inks too. The gorgeous stencil in the centre panel if the Mini Bubble Doily stencil and I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink with it. The other stencils are Reverse Chicken Wire and Roman letters.

I then did some random stamping without an acrylic block using the Tim Holtz Mixed Media chicken wire stamp and the text (which you can't really see !) is from the Wendy Vecchi Art from the Heart set.

I then started to create the layers for the inside. I used the diamond stamp from the Tim Holtz Classics 3 set and stamped in different directions. I trimmed it down and blended some Peaccock Feathers Distress Ink over it (you'll see this in a later photo!)

For the second layer I've used a piece from an old book, gave it a coat of Gesso and when dry I used the Roman Letters stencil with some Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste that I'd added a drop of Peacock Feathers Distress Reinker to.

For the background panel I used the Rulers Texture Fade and embossed the card in different directions. I also did the Spritz and Flick technique and rubbed some coloured wax over the raised areas of the embossing.

The dress form and the sentiment are from the Wendy Vecchi A Form of Art set and the fabulous flower is a Maya Art Vintage Burlap rose and I've added a couple of Maya Art Trinket Pins (which again you can't really see!)

I hope you've enjoyed my project and you have a lovely day !

Sue
