Art Journaling–Good Karma!
Sherry here with you today and I thought I would try my hand on another journal page. I’ve had this idea for some time and decided it was finally time to put it down on paper.
Starting with my Dylusions Art Journal, the page was misted with water and Seedless Preserves, Wild Honey and Broken China Distress Paints were randomly applied to the page. The paints were smeared around with the fingers, misted with water again, and then the journal was turned this way and that allowing the paint to run from side to side and top to bottom.
A stencil was made from chipboard with a lattice die and Dylusions White Linen Ink was misted over the stencil. There was so much mist on the top of the stencil that it was flipped over and smashed on the page for another effect.
Tattered Chicken Wire and Artistic Brick from Unity Stamps were inked with Picket Fence, Wild Honey and Broken China Distress Paints, and randomly stamped over the page.
A circle stencil was made from chipboard and Studio 490 Black Embossing Paste was applied through the stencil. I’m afraid it got a little messy, so to clean it up a bit and (make it messier) a small amount of copper paint was applied and misted with a patina solution.
Once dry, gold and copper leafing were rubbed over the embossing paste for more texture. The bezel is a project left over from Winter CHA that I decided would make a great embellishment for the center of the circle. Forgot to say, that the seam binding ribbon was taped to the page prior to adding the embossing paste, so that the ribbon could come from behind the circle and then tie off in front.
The sentiment was generated on the computer and printed on white cardstock. After cutting out the individual words, the edges were sponged with Seedless Preserves and Antique Linen Distress Inks.
I really had fun making this page, especially all the paint splatters. There’s something about picking up a bit of paint on a round brush and flicking that paint about . . . I think it might be that you don’t know what you’re going to get until it hits the page!
Thanks for joining me today!
