Good morning and happy weekend! Sherry here with you today and little did I know that when I got my project together for today that Micki and I were on the same wave length. What can I say? Great minds do think alike!
I’ve actually been working on this canvas for a few weeks and just like Micki, the day that my PanPastels arrived I watched Donna’s videos and couldn’t wait to start working.
I decided to start small for my first attempt and went with a 6x6 canvas that I had on hand.
Then canvas was covered with Matte Multi-Medium and crumpled tissue paper was spread across the canvas, down the sides around to the back.
At first I tried using Wendy Vecchi’s Studio 490 stencil with just the PanPastels but wasn’t happy with my results. I finally decided to use Wendy’s Embossing Paste and cover that with the PanPastels.
I varied the thickness of the Embossing Paste with each stencil, not bothering to smooth out the paste but leaving all the depth and ridges created.
I really like how the canvas looks on the red wall of my living room!
I’m sure I’ll be trying this again . . . we have to have a companion piece or two to hang up!
Thanks for joining me today!

I'm in love with this, Sherry...it's stunning!
Absolutely fabulous!! I love the depth and the crinkles this technique created!
Sherry, this is a gorgeous wall accessory; you did a fabulous job with the colors, stencils, and tissue paper!
This is so cool. Once my cabinets are installed and I can get my craft room put back together, I am going to try a mixed media piece.
This really turned out fantastic! I should really try out those products!
Sherry,
Way cool, I can't wait to see the others that go with it.
How fun is this? Between you and MIcki, I am now convinced I need to get some Pan Pastels. Great project!
Love it, Sherry!!! All the texture and yumminess!!!
You worked wonders with this, Sherry! Fabulous texture with the tissue paper and embossing paste. You are quite the artiste!
Great canvas Sherry, I love the textures on this. Beautiful! I agree you should make a couple of friends to hang beside it, I would love to see them too.
Sherry, the texture in this is just wonderful....like old porcelain that has cracked. Great dimension, too. I've missed your work!
Wow... how totally cool is this?! I'm inspired to go play right now... thank you, Sherry!
