It's Better with Color, Part 6: Claudine Hellmuth Studio Product Line

It's time for a new installment for our "It's Better with Color" series. Today, the E-Team is taking on Part 6: Claudine Hellmuth Studio Product Line. We love this fabulous collection of acrylic paints, Sticky Back Canvas, brushes, & more.

With the holiday season fast approaching, gift giving with handmade items for special people are on the top of the list. You have to plan for these special gifts and want to make sure that you use the best stuff out there. Acrylic paints are a staple of seasonal art supplies for its color options, ability to go on many surfaces, its permanent feature, and overall value.

Visit the E-Team during this blog hop and you'll see the variety of projects they have created. You'll get inspiration from surfaces they used and how they used the paints to create their final piece. Check out the vibrant colors and texture that the Claudine Hellmuth Studio Product Line really brings out in a project.

What's a blog hop without some fun giveaways? Visit each E-Team participant on her blog to see what she created.
  • You have from today until Thursday, Sept 1st to leave a comment.
  • We'll randomly choose 3 winners to win a Claudine Hellmuth Mini Acrylic Paint Set along with some other eP goodies.
  • Also leave a comment here on the eclectic Paperie Blog for a chance to win a $25 eclectic Paperie voucher. Tell us about any tips of techniques using acrylic paints in your projects.
  • Winners will be announced on the eP blog on Friday, Sept 2nd.

As you will see with this product line, not all acrylic paint is created equal. The Claudine Hellmuth color palette is bright and cheerful; versatile since you can mix for more color options; and the mediums are fantastic for your projects.
We hope you'll learn something new, pick up some tips, and be inspired to get your paints out. Happy Tuesday!

EP Blog Hops are the best. So many ideas from a talented team. have not tried Claudine's paints yet, but now on my wish list. Love to use shelf liner paper to add or take off paint from canvas, adds great texture.

Daisy, Daisy, Daisy! I love these EP blog hops...they are so inspiring. I'm really a coward when it comes to painting...I'm more of a stamper. I've just barely dipped my toes in the water...I painted a frame last week with Distress Crackle. I learned a lot from this blog, and am going to save my pennies for Claudine's paint. Sigh....

I don't use much paint in my work, but I'll have to try this. Everyone made it look so easy!

How timely! I just ordered these from you! Can't wait to try them out once they arrive :)

I love the quality of these paints - you can add some water to do a wash effect on projects. I'm thinking about adding a little into molding paste for my mix media projects too.

Off to peek at the DT's take on these paints - how FUN!!

My tip would be to keep your brushes clean! A lot of mess will be avoided if you do. I have to try Claudine's paints. I remember seeing her years ago, I think it was on Carol Duval's show ( could be wrong) a long time ago.

Great hop. All of the projects were wonderful. Tip I've learned when stamping with acrylic paint. I apply the paint to the stamp using a foam brush, with a lightly coating the stamp to avoid getting too much paint on the stamp.

Thaks for the chance to win. Love your blog hops! I like to take an old credit card or scraper to drag acryllic paint across a surface so that it is not covered completely for a cool distressed look. Also go the other direction with a second color in a cross-hatch fashion with a lighter color.

Right now I use acrylic paint to make traces on my project backgrounds. By traces I men smearing paint with a plastic card, making streaks with the side of a plastic card, making circles of different sizes using paint bottle caps. Other times I use it to paint the whole background. Another fun technique is using bubble wrap to make traces on paper or canvas.

Would love to try these paints. Back in the 80's when country and tole painting was very popular I used to paint alot. I loved making muslin animals and painting them. I found that using an undercoat of gesso kept the paint from cracking and chipping. Another tip when you custom blend or just want your paint to stay fresh always mix in plastic paint pallets, and keep covered with plastic wrap. You can keep the paint for up to 48 hrs. this way. Covering it keeps the air out so it does not form a crust and moisture will not escape. Also you do need to clean your brush often.

Thanks for the chance to win. I am going to have to check into getting these paints. Everything was awesome. I even liked several of the mediums they used to start their projects with. Everyone did a great job.

I think my favorite trick/technique to do with acrylic paints is to use left over stencils, bottle caps, bubble wrap, pretty much anything that can make an impression on your mixed media paper. I usually use three paint colors at the most, otherwise it can get muddy or be too much if you use a bunch of colors. I know pretty much everyone does that technique now, but it's still my favorite because you end up designing your own background paper for cards or projects.

Intersting hop. I too love Claudine's products- both her fabulous paints that are like no other and Stickyback is just divine. So fun to work with.

I had a chance to be in class with Claudine too. We learned 12 techniques with her products and paints. What an amazing artist and teacher! Have a collection of about 5 paints so far and use them mostly in my art journaling. This is a fun hop! Thanks.

I just finished checking all the blogs for the hop. Fun! Fun! Fun! I had the op to work with Claudine's paints and Creative Layers stamps at Archivers. The paints, stamps and sticky back canvas are on my shopping list for tomorrow. Actually I have $500 worth of supplies on my list, but the Claudine items have moved to the top. Thank you for the great hop and a chance to win. Believe me, I cannot afford $500 for product right now.

I have never used or even heard of Claudine's paints, but I must say, after looking at the projects, the paints are so vivid and bright! I used to paint just to dabble, but now I am inspired to try it again, only in my card making projects. Thanks for the info and the chance to win. I think I must buy some of these paints. The design team is awesome!

Cloudiness paints are sooo creamy, I love them! My fav trick is to put out some CH paint on my nonstick craft sheet, brayer in some slow dry mixative to mix, use the brayer to transfer the paint to a stamp, and voile! a cool painty stamp effect to match my project!
