Last Minute Gifts

Last day of pre-kindergarten was last week and tomorrow is the last day of school for my oldest daughter, Samantha. My girls were lucky this year to have some great teachers who made for a memorable school year. It's down to the last minute with teacher gifts. With little time, I sat down with limited supplies that I forced myself to work with. So, with several CD tins, the Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl Papers, some accessories and lots of resources/ideas from fellow stampers, here is what I was able to make.

Working with some of my favorite Stampin' Up! cardstock and inks (Really Red, Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue and So Saffron), several SU stamp sets(Sincere Salutations, Weathered and Aida Cloth background) plus the Stampendous Ruffled Bloom set, my Cuttlebug folders and more tools, I was able to make several of these gift sets. I made some jumbo paper clips after viewing Cambria's creations and Beth's tutorial on SCS. I just selected the Dutch Girl papers like Audery and Anna since they had small patterns. I used the Tsukineko Glue Pad to adhere the papers onto some light coasters and then ran that through my Cuttlebug using the Flower #1 die. Then I used more papers from Dutch Girl that I cut and adhered to the CD metal tin so that I had a matching container to house the jumbo clips. I also used some giant flowers from the Buck Naked - Buttons & More chipboard and covered it very easily with matching Buttons & More Fashions paper.

So, the jumbo clips went into the altered tin and the assorted cards with matching envelopes all went into a large cello bag. Wrapped it up with some fun ribbon and it was all good. It took several hours to make about 6 gift packages. Sometimes it's good to be able to just work with the little supplies you have and try to make it all work. I think that the gift ensemble turned out to be some nice gifts for some very nice teachers and my fellow girl scout leaders...don't you?

Oh the possibilities, now, with a simple idea that can be duplicated and done in multiples, I think I will have to try to make some more using all the new My Mind's Papers and also the Love Elsie papers for some teen gifts.

Happy Wednesday!

Introducing a special eP Friend

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend. What a fun day to pamper and share the day with that "special dad" in our lives. Thought this would be a great time to introduce David Sparks...who has been writing our weekly newsletter, eclectic Expose'. Okay, David is my husband. He's my best friend and partner in all my crazy antics. He has been a supporter and big cheerleader for eclectic Paperie. He has helped Joy and I through a lot of brainstorming and just getting eP off to a running start.

Thought you might like to get to know one of the eP members behind-scenes. David is an avid Mac-user with an active blog. If you are a Mac user or contemplating switching to a Mac, check out MacSparky- Drinking the Mac Cool-Aid and it's Delicious. He reviews some new Mac programs you can find in a podcast(he has a great voice). He keeps getting on Joy and I do to an eP podcast in the near future. Our two kids call him "MacDaddy." In addition to being a "Maco-wacko," David is a big football fan(Go Bucs!) as well as very talented woodworker.

David is very well versed in all stampin and scrappin stuff since he usually helps me pack all the eP orders in addition to the weekly eP newsletter. He let me take over our living room so I could convert it into my creative place. He built me an island to craft on and all the shelves that I seem to have outgrown(imagine that). I think that he is having as much fun as Joy and I are in the paper adventure of ours.

David is truly a special eclectic friend! Cheers to you!

Pink is In!

Just wanted to post that we finally received our backorder on the Belle(Pink) Fabric Creativity Bads. They will hold a laptop and so much more. Think of it as a fashionable summer beach tote, too.

We also received some new Stampendous sets called Sassy Silhouettes and Fashion Friendzy. Some new Cat's Eye Chalk and new Junkitz paper lines have also made it's way into the store. The newly released MFT stamps (Fright Night & Falling For You) sets are also now available. They are oh-so-cute!

If you haven't sign-up for our newsletter, don't miss out on news about specials and announcements that we may run. We have a good promotion lined up for you this week. We also have a weekly feature introducing an "eclectic friend" and her blog. You can sign up on our store home page....just scroll down to the bottom of the left hand column.

I get to go be a teacher's assistant at CKU Anaheim tomorrow and I am so excited. I might not be able to make the projects but I will get the kit(s) after the class sessions and will hopefully have time to make and show you all next week. Here's a photo of me from my CKU Masters(Anaheim, 2004) a couple years ago. I took a class Tim Holtz taught. I am on the far left with my scrappin girlfriends Jeannette & Suzanne. That's Tim and Nancy(from Ranger Industries). I got to be a "student" last time and it was a blast.

Have a great Friday!

My Mind's Eye is here!

Happy Thursday!

We've had a lot of requests to carry some of the beautiful papers from My Mind's Eye so here they are. Very yummy papers with lots of great patterns, colors, and overall design. The paper is a very heavy weight that reminds me of Crate Paper. We currently have Tres Jolie and Magnolia. They are available in single sheets and we have also bundled some kits as well. There are so many choices, too, so be warned. These papers are also double-sided and just plain fabulous!

If you haven't signed up for our weekly newsletter, you can do so through the eP home page. The eClectic Expose' highlights some products, feature an "eclectic Friend" and her blog, and sometimes tell you about specials and coupon codes that we might have.

Cheers!

Sizzle with Circle Punches

We are excited to get in some of the new Paper Salon Tailored Tins. Here is one more new design from them called Sizzle. I took out my punches and also my Coluzzle and as you can see, this stamp set can coordinate a variety circle punches you may have. This particular stamp set is just fun with all the cool circle images that can enhance any paper crafting projects. Wouldn't it be fun to stamp and emboss these; then use a punch to really make it pop. How about one flocked with some cool Stampendous Fun Flock? Or use some Stickles on a smaller circle design to create your own page pebble. There are all kinds of possibilities don't you think?

Check out some of the other Paper Salon Tailored Tins including the popular Create-a-Flower and new Summer Fun stamp sets. Remember that these are unmounted, die-cut rubber images.

Have a great weekend!

Salute to Dad

Hope everyone had a safe and great Memorial Day weekend. You all made Joy's birthday, too, with all the orders that we received over the weekend. Thank you! Thank you!!

Now it's time to get going on those Father's Day projects that need to be made for those special dads in our lives. Here are some fun things that we just received yesterday from Paper Salon. Check out the new Haberdashery line and stamp set called father's day. Way cute and versatile for all those masculine cards and projects that we always seem to not have enough of. The Paper Salon Tailored Tins are very popular since they are die-cut, unmounted rubber stamp sets. They each come in the dvd tin, too. If you are looking for acyrlic blocks for your unmounted stamps, also check out the wide assortment we have . I personally love the Stampendous Acrylic blocks since that have the grooves/handles like traditional wood mounts.

If you are looking for any other masculine-type papers, check out the new SEI paperline called Such a Boy and Crate paperlines such as Zoom, Cowboy, and Taylor. The Boy Scouts line form K& Co has lots of designs that can lend themselves to these projects, too. My favorite to give a masculine and also vintage look are Wanted and Halfway Cafe from Cosmo Cricket. The newest line we have from Love, Elsie, called Toby is really hip and cool.

Don't forget that we also have a lot of alterables for that perfect gift-giving containers and projects. There are metal tins that mimic the lunch box look and also the clear acrylic paint cans. The DVD tins and CD tins are great items to hold any digital scrapbooking projects you may want to give that special dad. Create a CD of his favorite tunes or a DVD of some great photos with the kids and famiy and put it in some cool metal tin container that you altered.

Whatever your projects are for dad or whatever you have planned for the summer, don't forget the great papers and stamps that Eclectic Paperie offers to enhance your creative process and paper crafts.

BTW...we have lots of new things in this week. Check out all the new SEI paper lines and matching embellishments as well as the Love, Elsie line from KI Memories.
