The 12 Days of Christmas ~ Day 2 !

Hello ! It's Sue here and I'm sharing my project for Day 2 of the 12 days of Christmas. Now, I've not actually made a Christmas project as the product I'm focussing on today are Wendy Vecchi's fabulous stamps and I don't actually own any Christmas ones ! (definitely need to rectify that!)

I started off with a piece of grey board that has a white card coating. My original idea was to make a check pattern using masking tape which I would remove after I done some stamping, but I quite liked the difference in texture so decided to leave it on ! I've stamped over it with Orange Blossom Archival and the background stamp from the Heirloom Art set.

I then blended distress ink over it and where there was no tape the colour was alot darker, which I quite liked !

I then used the leaves from the Nature's Art set and stamped them using Fern Green Archival ink.

I used the Layered Tree stencil and mixed white embossing paste with acrylic paint. I've also used the From the Garden stencil and some more Fern Green Archival ink for the grass along the bottom edge. I added some more random stamping using the text stamp from the Art from the Heart set and stamped it with Potting Soil Archival ink.

I created the little ledge for the bird using a border punch and then I stamped the check background stamp with Potting Soil Archival ink from the Nature's Art set.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set on to some card and cut it into a tag shape and added a border. The ribbon is seam binding that I've dyed with Ripe Persimmon Distress Stains.  To finish I've added some buttons and rubbed a little metallic wax around the edges and over the tree.

I hope you've enjoyed today's project and you're looking forward to day 3 !
