I created a trendy masculine card the other day and thought I'd show it to you and also give you a couple of little tips about the process. My starting point was this fabulous new 6x6 Trend Setter paper from Fancy Pants. I used it to create strips across the navy panel and also to add behind the license plate opening.
I used a cute chipboard car embellishment that I found, but you can use any die cut or pre-cut chipboard exactly the same way. There are LOTS of adorable chipboard and wood die cuts in the embellishments section of the eP store to choose from!
I didn't have the exact color of paint or ink that I wanted to paint the car. The Bundled Sage ink was a little too dark. So I smushed some onto my craft sheet then added a drop of Studio Gesso and misted them with water using a Ranger mini-mister. I mixed these with a Studio paint brush then used that to paint the body of the card.
The rest of the card is pretty straightforward, but I do have one more little hint about attaching a button that has a twine bow tied on the bottom side of the button. Obviously the whole embellishment won't lie flat, but if you don't want it to flop due to the bulk of the twine in the middle of the button, use tiny pieces of foam tape both above and below the knot.
I hope you're inspired to pull out some fun embellishments and create!
Thank you so much for dropping in today. I hope your weekend is full of fun and crafty goodness!
