Mixed Media with PanPastels!

Good morning and happy weekend!  Sherry here with you today and little did I know that when I got my project together for today that Micki and I were on the same wave length.  What can I say?  Great minds do think alike!

I’ve actually been working on this canvas for a few weeks and just like Micki, the day that my PanPastels arrived I watched Donna’s videos and couldn’t wait to start working.

I decided to start small for my first attempt and went with a 6x6 canvas that I had on hand.

Then canvas was covered with Matte Multi-Medium and crumpled tissue paper was spread across the canvas, down the sides around to the back.

At first I tried using Wendy Vecchi’s Studio 490 stencil with just the PanPastels but wasn’t happy with my results.  I finally decided to use Wendy’s Embossing Paste and cover that with the PanPastels.

I varied the thickness of the Embossing Paste with each stencil, not bothering to smooth out the paste but leaving all the depth and ridges created.

I really like how the canvas looks on the red wall of my living room!

I’m sure I’ll be trying this again  . . . we have to have a companion piece or two to hang up!

Thanks for joining me today!
