Through a Beautiful Window

Hello. Annette Green here with a card design focused on a beautiful window die from Spellbinders. The new Die D-Lites are perfect for card making because of their smaller size, but let's not forget to mention the incredible detail. These dies are so intricate and lovely, I simply had to have nearly ALL of them when I first saw them.

Take a look at the birthday card I created with the Window One die as well as the Fantastic Flourish One die...

The card measures 4.5 x 6 inches and the base is a dark chocolate brown, which works nicely with Authentique's "Lovely" paper collection.

Window One.

Fantastic Flourish One.

Here's a quick look on how it came together...

On a plain piece of neutral card stock, I traced the window portion of the die where I wanted to insert another pattern paper. This will make sense in a minute.

This is the traced shape that I cut out.

Then I cut the window die once from this postcard/script paper and adhered it to the cardstock cut-out from the previous step.

Then I cut the Window One again from this pretty rose pattern paper. Then I popped the rose paper pieces into the window spaces (after ink-distressing their edges with Vintage Photo).

I cut the Fantastic Flourish One die from olive green textured cardstock in my stash, then cut the piece apart like this.

The two pieces go into place around my window like this.

I added some tiny flowers cut from a Tim Holtz/Sizzix strip die (Tattered Flower Garland) and a few stamped sentiments, some gems and a metal bird to pull it all together.

Thanks for popping in today!
