E-Team Blog Hop: It's Better with Color Part 3 - Alcohol Inks

It's time for Part 3 of "It's Better with Color" series. I challenged the E-Team to dust off their Ranger Alcohol Inks and get re-acquainted with some techniques. There are so many uses for Alcohol Inks so you'll get to see a variety of uses from the E-Team. 


Do you remember those alcohol inks in your stash? If you are new to this medium, just know that the Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks comes in many colors, is fast drying, and adheres to slick surfaces like metal, plastic, acetate, dominoes and glossy paper. There is a Blending Solution that is sold separately that helps to lighten colors and also assist in cleaning up alcohol inks.

You can also use an Alcohol Ink Fillable Pen to ink up individual staples and other metal embellishments.

    I haven't tried this, but I love the idea of coloring Tim Holtz tiny attacher staples with alcohol inks.

    Love this idea of coloring objects with the alcohol inks. I haven't tried any alcohol ink, other than my Copic markers. I have seen the Adirondack Ink, but never bought any. Thanks for having this blog hop. I learn so much and it puts me a little more up to date with the trends.

    I love the idea of dying the buttons! I guess Alcohol Inks aren't just for backgrounds. I will have to get mine out and start playing. Thanks for this inspiration. My hint is to get them out of the drawer and put them where you can see the, you'll use them more often.

    LOVE that technique Daisy, thanks for sharing... my fave tech with AI's is to ink glass/fragment, stamp with Archival and then dab the image off so it creates a resist.. tis fun!! Thanks for the chance to be in with winning candy... yummo!! x

    Great idea. I never thought to add the ink to a baggie along with clear buttons, etc. I am anxious to try that out. I made a card recently using the inks on one side of a transparency and embossed it on the reverse.     I like to use my alcohol inks to create background scenes that look like the ocean. Then, stamp on top with one of my favorite shell stamps. Always a classic.

    I am just amazed at what you can do with alcohol inks!! I like to use alcohol inks to dye white ribbon to match whatever project I am working on - it's much easier than trying to find ribbon to match.

    Love alcohol inks so this one is perfect! My favorite is Polished Stone, although I really love the canned air technique too. Very fun. Off to see the other projects!

    Wow! The team outdid themselves! And I love your baggie tip..sort of a slap the side of the head moment! I do that when marinating, dredging or seasoning food all the time! LOL! And Mickey totally woke up the realization of taking the time to play and experiment. Look at all the cool ideas she came up with! Fantastic-I so love your hops

    I love coloring the tissue tape with alcohol inks. It gives the projects such a vibrant color that really makes things pop.

    Lots of cool ideas! I would not have thought of many of those ways to use the alcohol inks on my own! Some very creative ladies on the DT.
    I love the look on the metal tape from the hardware store. I have some of that stuff in the garage! And I don't think hubby ever uses it, so....

    Okay, so I watched a video of Tim making really neat ornaments with alcohol ink, clear ornaments and canned air... I tried it and I was in LOVE!!! So much fun. I like the way you colored the items, going to have to try that!

    My favorite tip with alcohol inks is to use them to change my pearls or gems to the color I need for a project. Also you can use them on metal charms, tags, etc. to color them the needed colour! Thanks. Love my alcohol inks. Just wish I had a bigger variety - LOL- you know like one of each!!!
