Shades of Autumn

Hi, everybody!  It's Broni here!

Recently I needed to make an Autumn card.  And, you know, every once in a while I just like to get really inky!

I spread several different colors of Distress inks (shown below) onto my craft sheet, spritzed with some water, and laid my Sticky-Backed Canvas ATC and my Maya Road Mini Canvas Tag into the ink.  I picked them up, dried them with my heat gun, and then repeated the process until I got the saturated look that I wanted.

After embossing the kraft card base with a Spellbinders die, I adhered the canvas, using the embossing as a frame.  I stamped the framed leaf onto a Manila ATC in Archival coffee ink, and painted with the same Distress inks as above.  I cut it out and mounted it with Scotch foam mounting tape.  I also stamped the sentiment onto the canvas tag using the same ink.

After tying the ribbon around the card front, I attached the canvas tag with a piece of Cappuccino twine.  It's also attached with mounting tape.

It took a little while for all the ink to wear off of my fingers when I was through.  But it was worth it!

Have a great weekend.....and get inky!

Wish Big

wishbig_2012sep13

Hi, all, Barbara  here and I have a sorta CAS card for you today. It was super easy to make—always a plus when you’re rushed for time. I’m using some awesome neutral patterned paper from Echo Park’s So Happy Together—this wood grain pattern is a great backdrop for lots of things. Then I adhered some strips of THIS Washi tape from My Mind’s eye. It looks kinda purplish on my monitor but it’s very pink IRL :) Then I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added a strip of Graphic 45 Trim Staples crocheted lace with some sweet ribbon woven through and tied in a bow, adhered with my awesome Dot N’ Go – Mini Glue Dots.

And that is pretty much it! As I said, simple and easy :) Thank so much for stopping by!

A Pocketful of Thanks

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the delay in posting this morning...time seriously got away from me! :-)  Today I'm sharing a card using the 'oh-so-fun' A Pocketful stamp set and A Pocketful die from Wplus9.  Is this not the most fabulous set and die!!

To create my jean pocket I started by cutting the pocket shape out of sticky back canvas.  The canvas was perfect for creating the jeans look!  I then used my Faded Jeans Distress Ink and blending tool to add color to the canvas.  A hint of Walnut Stain on the edges gave the pocket that well worn look...well...that and fraying th edges of the pocket by pulling a few threads from the canvas.

Since Wplus9 stamp sets are clear, I was able to create the pocket (the jeans image was created with three individual stamps...yes, you can have your jeans pocket your way!) by laying out all three stamps on my pocket and pressing down with my Stamp Press to pick up all three stamps at once...creating my own design that just needed ink!  I created the sentiment in the same manner.

The last step was to fill my pocket and I opted for the shooting stars.  To line up the pocket fillings, just place the pocket on your card and then line up the stamp...already inked. Gently remove the pocket and stamp!  I colored the stars with Copics, added a few rhinestones, and attached the pocket with foam tape.  Super fun, right?

Product Spotlight: Idea-ology Tissue Tape

This week I set out to record a video where I demonstrate a technique I learned at a Tim Holtz class I attended earlier in the year. During the class we created a large mural project, using a variety of products and techniques. I wanted to break down just one of the techniques we learned, using tissue tape, and create a design element that could be used on a card. Tissue tape is such a fun product and I loved this torn and distressed technique.  And now you can see the video, which is now...live in the eClassroom! Head on over and check it out...

Today's card features great paper from Authentique (this is from the Enchanted line), that wonderful tissue tape, and a darling image from Sweet Stamp Shop.

So...in honor of my first video being live...I'm offering a huge sale on Idea-ology tissue tape this week!  Purchase two Distress Inks, because Distress Inks are perfect for adding color to tissue tape, and receive any of our tissue tape packages for only $4.00! That's more than a 50% savings!! We have three tissue tape packages in stock:

Work Less, Fish More... every man's dream!

eP083012

Hi everyone!  I recently got a box of goodies in the mail from the eclectic Paperie store, and had to immediately get creative!  I mentioned once how much I loved this great Fish More stamp set from Wplus9 Design Studio, and Kim heard me and did not disappoint… I found these stamps and the matching dies in my box!  I could have hours of fun die-cutting these fishies and stamping them in different colors!  :)

The papers I used here are from the PB & J 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey… there’s such a great variety in that line!

I hope you like my quick and simple little card today!  Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Cherry Blossoms!

Good morning!  Sherry here and it’s my day to post a project here on the blog.  I decided to use one of the new stamps sets, Cherry Blossoms by Sweet Stamp Shop, and some new MME paper, Lavender.

SCheeverCherryBlossoms

For the main image, the branch was inked with Walnut Stain and Victorian Velvet Distress Markers, misted with water and stamped onto damp watercolor paper.

The sentiment was embossed with black embossing powder.  Much to my dismay, there a a tiny bit of embossing powder still on the image that I didn’t see . . . so . . . I pulled out my handy dandy ink spritzer and  the Walnut Stain Distress Marker, and spritzed some marker over the image.  It worked for me!

The stamping and the sponging on the image was all done while the paper was still in the Spellbinders Square die template, leaving that nice white border around the image.  The frame and border were die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Asian Accents and Motifs.

The seam binding ribbon was dyed with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Just a Note

Hi Folks,
When I first received the Quilt Cuts I die and the Country Charm stamp set from Wplus9 Design Studio in my goody box from Kim, I have been wanting to see if my crafting mojo would allow me to come up with something.  I mean, after all, I used to be a quilter.  However, I've been in the mood to play with the all the wonderful colors of ink sprays from Dylusions Ink Sprays and of course Tim Holtz Distress Inks.   My dilemma…. how to incorporate it all!
Now, to you that might not seem mind boggling, but to me….. well, it took me a while.  But here is what I came up with:

I have been in love with the blue and green colors, especially the blue-green color combo that can be achieved using the Dylusions Ink Sprays.  I absolutely love these and yes, I own all the colors!  But what that means is that I have oodles and oodles of spritzed and inked tags all ready at my disposal.  Pulling several colored tags from my stash, I stamped the grid designs from the Country Charm set randomly onto the tags and then ran the tag through my die cutting machine with the Quilt Cuts I die (on a side note…. really love they way these dies cut!).

And being on this color kick, it should be no surprise that I would use papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 Breeze pack.  To add a bit of color, I added a large button from Buttons Galore Tangerine Tango.  I do tend to over analyze and had to force myself to move on or chance ruining what I had accomplished thus far.  Since I had several die cut pieces left over, I decided to use a couple of these as a type of bracket for the sentiment panel:

Truly, at times I am die-cut challenged it seems, however I don't let that stop me from trying!

Be sure to check out the eP SHOP, new product is being added daily and Kim has made it easy to see all the new product in one glance with a What's New tab.
That's it for me today, I hope this inspired you grab those inks and get inky!
